Lindsay Clancy‘s ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, looked stressed when he was spotted having a conversation with his new wife, Rachel Danis, in New York City while Lindsay is on trial for killing their three children in Massachusetts.
Patrick, 39, and Danis were spotted at an apartment in Manhattan around 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, according to photos obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, August 19. The pair both donned somber expressions as they sat on a rooftop.
An eyewitness told the outlet that Patrick and Danis were on the rooftop for about 30 minutes, and they appeared visibly stressed as they talked to each other and were on and off their phones.
The photos were taken while Lindsay’s trial was on break. She is facing three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of assault and battery after she killed her children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — in January 2023.
Following the killings, Lindsay, 36, and Patrick separated and ultimately got divorced. Patrick moved on and started dating Danis in 2024, and they got married in April. However, their marriage wasn’t publicly revealed until Lindsay’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, noted Patrick’s new marriage in court on July 23.
Reddington has not denied that Lindsay killed her children, but he argued that she should not be held criminally responsible for the deaths because she had postpartum psychosis at the time.
Reddington has also said in court that Lindsay has bipolar disorder and she was prescribed antidepressants to treat her postpartum depression, which made her condition worse.
Meanwhile, prosecutors are arguing that Lindsay intentionally killed her children. They pointed out that she sent Patrick to run errands before the killings so that she would be alone with the kids. After she strangled them, Lindsay jumped from the second-story of her home in an apparent suicide attempt.
Patrick previously testified during Lindsay’s trial on July 27, where he shared insight into who his children were.
Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague shared photographs of the children while Patrick was on the stand, and he reacted to a photo of Cora smiling while wearing a large red bow in her hair.
“She liked princesses,” Patrick said of his eldest child as he held back tears. “She had a lot of friends. She just liked taking care of people.”
Patrick shared that Dawson liked firefighters, trucks and Paw Patrol, while Callan “was just a happy baby.”
Just days after the kids were killed on January 24, 2023, Patrick wrote in a GoFundMe that he had forgiven Lindsay for their deaths.
“I want to ask all of you that you find it deep within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I have. The real Lindsay was generously loving and caring towards everyone – me, our kids, family, friends, and her patients,” he wrote in the January 28, 2023, post. “The very fibers of her soul are loving. All I wish for her now is that she can somehow find peace.”
