Surprise! Nordstrom is having an end-of-winter clearout sale, which is a huge event for the retailer — and a big win for your wallet. The more room Nordstrom can make on the shelves for new inventory (re: spring and summer items), the better. To do that, the brand is heavily discounting items in stock, and I’m not being dramatic when I say that you’ll especially want to take advantage of these under-$50 deals while they last . . . because they won’t.
When shopping end-of-season sales, I like to categorize my wishlist into three categories: capsule wardrobe items, current popular picks and projected trendy finds. I usually buy elevated basics for my capsule wardrobe, making sure I only grab quality clothes. I invest in the pieces I can wear for years to come. And lastly, I spend as little as possible on current trends; they may be hot now, but the pot cools quickly. Although, some trends have staying potential — just look at ‘90s and Y2K clothing, which have stuck around for decades.

3. Cozy Essential: Whether you work from home or your favorite pastime is rotting on the couch, this full-length micro-fleece bathrobe is about to be your new uniform.
4. Capsule-Worthy: When huge end-of-season sales come around, I try to think long-term . . . and I anticipate that this pleated mini skirt will stand the test of time. This houndstooth pick is a mainstay for any capsule because it can be dressed up for office days or down for casual meetups.
5. Must-Have Denim: For those of Us impatiently waiting for mid-rise denim to have its moment, these column-style jeans meet the pant-rise standards. Plus, if you’re a street style enthusiast, they offer the ideal amount of bagginess.

They work as foundational layers in the fall and winter, and are saving graces in the spring and summer when the sun goes down and evenings are cool.
