Nicole Kidman’s daughter Sunday Rose accompanied her to the 2026 2026 Met Gala for the first time following the Oscar winner’s divorce from Keith Urban.
Kidman, 58, and Sunday, 17, wowed on the red carpet during the Monday, May 4, event at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, all while adhering to the “Costume Art” theme.
The Big Little Lies star opted for a sparkly red Chanel gown, which included feather details at her hips. Her long blond hair was straight with bangs. Sunday Rose, 17, wore a strapless Dior by Jonathan Anderson pink gown with floral details on the top and matching earrings.
Kidman was all smiles while chatting with Lauren Sánchez Bezos and Anna Wintour before she took to the red carpet for solo photos.
The Practical Magic star is a cochair of the 2026 gala along with Beyoncé, Venus Williams and Wintour, 76. This marks her third time in the role after previously cochairing with Wintour, 76, and Tom Ford in 2003 and Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld in 2005.
In March, Kidman revealed that Sunday would be attending the 2026 Met Gala alongside her.
“I think it’s the third time I’ve cochaired,” she said during an episode of the “Las Culturistas” podcast. “To do it now, I’m so, so happy — and my daughter Sunday will be coming.”
In years past, Urban, 58, frequently attended the Met Gala with Kidman. However, he notably skipped the May 2025 event, with the actress walking the red carpet solo. Four months later, news broke that the pair had split after 19 years of marriage.
At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Kidman and Urban had been “quietly separated for a while” and living “separate lives.”
“Nicole and Keith were not on the same page,” the insider said. “They are moving in two different directions, and their worlds are not overlapping as much as they once did. The distance between them had grown more obvious recently.”
Kidman filed for divorce in September 2025, and she and Urban — who are also parents of daughter Faith, 15 — finalized the proceedings in January. Court documents obtained by Us revealed that Kidman is designated as Sunday and Faith’s primary parent. According to a parenting plan, the exes’ daughters will spend 306 days each year with Kidman and 59 with Urban.
In March, Kidman broke her silence on her divorce from Urban nearly six months after the news made headlines.
“I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good. What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward,” she told Variety at the time. “That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
Since her split from Urban, Kidman’s daughters have joined her for multiple public outings, including at Paris Fashion Week in October 2025 and a pre-Oscar dinner in March. For Kidman, the “hardest part” of her and Urban’s divorce “is navigating the dynamic with their daughters,” a source told Us in October 2025.
“The last thing Nicole wanted was a broken family,” the insider explained, adding that Kidman “raised her daughters to be strong and is leading by example for them.”
As a newly single mom, the source revealed that Kidman planned to “focus on creating new traditions with her daughters and keeping their home life as steady and loving as possible.”
