Nelly Furtado seemingly fired back at body-shamers in a clever way while performing in Manchester, England.
The singer, 46, made a fashion statement while taking the stage during Manchester Pride on Sunday, August 24. For her performance, Furtado rocked an oversized T-shirt that featured an hourglass figure on it with the message “Better Than Ever” tattooed on her lower back. From the front, it appeared as though she was wearing a blue bra, a white crop top and a blue mini skirt. She styled the look with black signet tights complete with rhinestone embellishments and coordinating boots.
Furtado made sure her glam was just as fierce as her getup, donning dewy foundation, bright pink blush, smokey eyeshadow, winged eyeliner and long lashes. Her brunette strands were parted down the middle and styled in a slicked-back updo with the rest of her mane braided.
She added even more accessories to her look with clear earrings, purple fingerless gloves and sparkly hair clips.
The singer previously showed off her sexy style in a micro pleated skirt and bra top while taking the stage at Big Festival in Glastonbury, UK. She styled the look with knee-high boots and layers of silver accessories.
Furtado has been open about embracing her curves and her “body neutral” mindset. In January, she celebrated the new year by sharing a bikini selfie via Instagram.
Her neon orange swimsuit was complete with structured cups and a halter top, as well as high-waisted bottoms complete with lace-up sides.
“This year I became aware of the aesthetic pressure of my work in a brand new way, while simultaneously I experienced new levels of self-love and genuine confidence from within,” she captioned the post. “For whoever cares, I have never had any face or body surgeries or augmentation, besides for veneers on the top row of my teeth, quite recently.” Furtado added that she also hadn’t explored any “face or lip injections or fillers,” either.
“My New Year’s message for 2025, is express yourself freely, celebrate your individuality and know that it’s perfectly OK to be OK with what you see in the mirror, and it’s also OK to want something different,” she continued. “We are all cute little humans just bouncing around the earth looking for hugs.”
