Indiana skated by with its eighth win of the season against Minnesota on Saturday, but it did not come without some late-game theatrics.

With the game tied with just 19 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Gophers kicker Luke Drzewiecki drilled a 60-yard field goal to put Minnesota up 16-13.

In those final seconds, however, the Hoosiers were able to march down the field after backup quarterback Grant Wilson connected with Charlie Becker on a 33-yard pass, setting up for a 60-yard field goal of their own, with kicker Paddy McAteer sending the game to overtime.

In overtime, Wilson connected with Becker again on the first play for a 25-yard touchdown, and Indiana’s defense was able to stop Minnesota for the win.

“This is entertainment, so I thought we’d bring some entertainment to this game,” Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti joked. “Minnesota played great, and we just made some plays, but this team just finds a way [to win].”

The game also made 2026 the second season in Big Ten history in which multiple field goals of 60-plus yards were made.

“They made some big-time plays, and we did everything we could to put ourselves in position to win,” Gophers coach P.J. Fleck said. “But our kids never blink, never back down.

“We expected to win this game. That’s a hurt locker room in there.”

Indiana pulled starting QB Josh Hoover after he took a rough hit while throwing his second interception of the night.

While relieving Hoover, Wilson went 9-for-17 passing with 156 yards. Becker caught eight passes for 149 yards and the decisive score.
