House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) claimed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) are locked in a “family squabble” over the government shutdown.
“It’s hard to square,” Johnson said. “It’s not my place to get involved in their family squabble.”
“I’m not trying to fuel that,” he added with a smile.
