Struggling Mets starter Kodai Senga was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with lumbar spine inflammation, the team announced.
Christian Scott is coming back from Triple-A to take Senga’s place on the roster.
The 33-year-old Senga, who was the subject of trade rumors during the offseason, has allowed 20 earned runs in 20 innings across five start in a disastrous start to the 2026 season. He has allowed five home runs and has a 1.95 WHIP.
He also has battled several injuries the last few years and was limited to one start during the 2024 campaign after earning All-Star honors as a rookie in 2023.
Scott was sent down after pitching for the Mets last Thursday. He gave up one run on five walks and a hit batsman while recording just four outs.
