UPDATE — 4/1/26, 1:35 p.m. ET: Megan Thee Stallion shared a health update after she was rushed to the hospital during a Broadway performance of Moulin Rouge! on Tuesday, March 31.

“Last night was a real wake-up call for me. I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me,” she wrote in a statement via Instagram on Wednesday, April 1. “I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t. Hotties I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting yall down 🥺 I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been..I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100 [percent] the way you deserve. Thank you for always riding with me and loving me through everything.”

The rapper noted in her post that she plans to return to her role as Zidler on Thursday, April 2.

Original story:

Megan Thee Stallion was rushed to the hospital after becoming “very ill” while on stage during a performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

“During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated,” the rapper’s rep confirmed to Complex in a Tuesday, March 31, statement. “We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Megan’s rep for comment.

Megan’s hairstylist Kellon Deryck also took to social media on Tuesday to ask for well-wishes as the musician, 31, remains under medical care.

“Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital,” he wrote via X.

News correspondent and podcast host Loren LoRosa was in attendance at the show and took to X in the evening to share her experience. “Came to see Meg [Thee] Stallion on Broadway and that was short lived,” she wrote. “The few opening scenes I saw her in, she was great on stage! I was excited but … they just stopped Moulin Rouge! mid-show, apologized to the audience and said, ‘Stay inside and seated.’ I asked security if we’re safe … they told us, ‘For now, we’ll update you if anything changes.’”

In a second X post, LoRosa noted that Megan (real name Megan Pete) was removed from New York’s Al Hirschfield Theatre without any explanation.

“Moulin Rouge! on Broadway has removed Meg [Thee] Stallion for the night (no explanation as to why),” the second post read.

Megan made her Broadway debut as Zidler in the musical on March 24. She said in an interview with USA Today, published two days after her debut, that starring on stage provided her with the role of a lifetime.

The Grammy-winning musician revealed that her late mother, Holly Thomas, encouraged her to perform in stage productions as a child.

“I guess that manifested into me being who I am today, but going back to her putting me in plays when I was young, when I got the opportunity to be a part of Broadway, I was like, ‘Wow. I feel like this is something that my mom would’ve really wanted me to do,’” Megan said. “So, loving Moulin Rouge! and knowing that my mom loved theatre, I feel like she saw this for me. I feel like she manifested this for me. So, I feel really excited to do it, and I’m [going to] put my all into it.”
