The Giants need a win.
They’re one of two NY-based football teams that didn’t make the playoffs this year (see if you can guess the other), after a tumultuous season that saw the team unwilling to commit to a backup quarterback following Daniel Jones’s season-ending injury.
Now, the team is re-tooling, and while many expected the head office to select a quarterback with their first pick (as six of the other teams within the first 12 selections did), the Giants went for Wide Reciever Malik Nabers, of LSU, to add a little dynamism to their roster.
Though it’s rumored that the team had their eye on Drake Maye, a quarterback who went to New England in the third overall pick, the team ultimately stuck by Daniel Jones’ side, endorsing their flagging quarterback with their selection of electric Nabers.
Giants coach Brian Daboll seems excited. As reported by the Post, Daboll said of Nabers: “I think he’s a fantastic player, a lot of good attributes, starting with his personality, his demeanor, his competitive stamina and toughness. He’s a dog on the field. I’m excited to work with him.’’
