Alexa and Brennon Lemieux are the last Love Is Blind season 3 couple standing following Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton’s divorce.
“I am so proud of Colleen. I’m still so close with her [and] I absolutely adore her,” Alexa, 30, said on the Wednesday, July 30, episode of the “What’s the Reality” podcast. “I have always wanted the best for her, and I think that everything is as it, kind of, should be with everything. I think everything happens for a reason.”
She added, “I think that they probably learned a lot [about] what they’re looking for future-wise. Keep on learning, but I think she’s doing great.”
Alexa and Brennon, 35, met and got engaged sight unseen in the Love Is Blind pods in summer 2021, at the same time that Colleen and Matt, both 30, sparked their own romance. Both pairs tied the knot during the season 3 finale, which aired on Netflix in 2022.
After four years of marriage, Colleen and Matt announced their split in May.
“We’ve been separated for some time now and have [done] our best to work through everything privately and with care,” the now-exes captioned a joint Instagram statement. “This was an incredibly difficult decision, not one we made lightly. It came with a lot of thought and it’s been an emotional process for both of us.”
They continued, “We met in the most unique and unexpected way, and we’ll always be grateful for the love and memories we’ve shared. There’s not one thing we would change and we continue to have deep respect and care for one another. Thank you to everyone who has supported us. We kindly ask for compassion as we navigate this transition.”
Weeks later, Colleen jetted off to Europe for a summer vacation, seemingly putting any drama in the rearview mirror.
“Who needs therapy when I could just wake up in Italy?” Colleen captioned a TikTok video on May 27, in which she drank an espresso outside the Duomo in Florence, Italy.
While speaking on fellow Love Is Blind alum AD Smith’s podcast, Alexa quipped on Wednesday that she loved to see Colleen thriving on her own.
“She announced that divorce and she was like, ‘Peace out. I’m going to Europe,’” Alexa added. “I was like, ‘If you’re gonna do [it], you did it. That’s how.’”
Brennon, for his part, has seldom been in contact with Matt since the split.
“I go golfing occasionally, so maybe I’ll run into him on a golf course at some point,” he said on the podcast. “I’m not good at golfing. I just go to drink beers and drive around in a little cart.”
Just before Colleen and Matt confirmed their breakup, the ballet dancer exclusively spoke to Us Weekly about facing “so many challenges” in their relationship.
“I would say with all the audience and all the eyeballs is definitely the hardest to go through and all of the opinions and everything,” Colleen told Us in April. “That was 100 percent the biggest challenge. But then, you have your own everyday challenges that you go through in a relationship and a marriage. With everything, it’s definitely a pressure cooker, so you just have to be strong with yourself and with your relationship.”
