Lauren Sánchez is celebrating her friend Katy Perry’s 41st birthday with a touching tribute.
Jeff Bezos’ wife, 55, shared photos of her and Perry via Instagram Stories on Saturday, October 25, calling the “Roar” singer her “girl.”
“Happy birthday @katyperry I love you to space and back,” she wrote over a black-and-white photo of the pair, adding rocket, star and heart emojis. She shared another post with three additional pictures, writing, “Did I mention it’s my girls [sic] birthday. Oh how I love you @katyperry.”
Both posts were set to Perry’s songs “Birthday” and “California Gurls.”
Sánchez and Perry have been friends since at least 2023, when they traveled to Dubrovnik, Croatia, together with their respective partners at the time, Bezos, 61, and Perry’s now ex-fiancé, Orlando Bloom. The following year they went to Sardinia, Italy, on Bezos’ $500 million yacht.
The pair then reached a new level of friendship when they flew to space together in April 2025. Sánchez and Perry were among the all-female crew — which included journalist Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn — who flew to space on Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket. The two bonded over the experience, and Perry ended up traveling to Paris for Sánchez’s bachelorette party the following month.
Perry did not attend Sánchez and Bezos’ lavish nuptials in Venice in June 2025 because she was performing back-to-back shows in Australia. Bloom, 48, however, was spotted at the wedding weekend after news broke of his breakup from Perry.
Two days before the nuptials, Us Weekly reported that Perry and Bloom ended their engagement after nearly 10 years together. (Bloom proposed to Perry in 2019 and their daughter, Daisy, arrived in August 2020.)
“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” the former couple told Us in a joint statement on July 3. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
Perry is now dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The singer was spotted holding hands with the politician, 53, following a date in Paris for her birthday on Saturday. Footage obtained by TMZ showed Perry wearing a sleek red dress and being handed a rose from a fan outside a cabaret performance at Crazy Horse Paris.
It has been a whirlwind few months for the pair, as they were first spotted on a walk in Montreal’s Mount Royal Park in July before enjoying a private meal together at the Le Violon restaurant a few hours later.
Perry and Trudeau have since gone on multiple outings over the past several months, including a PDA-filled trip on a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, in early October.
Us Weekly learned on Friday, October 24, that both Perry and Trudeau are trying to maintain their privacy despite the increasing public interest in their relationship.
“Katy is really into it. She’s very happy,” an insider told Us. “She’s trying to keep it low-key, and they’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship.”
