Kristen Bell was the belle of the ball at the SAG-AFTRA’s 32nd Actor Awards.
The third-time host, 45, rocked the red carpet on Sunday, March 1, in an ethereal Georges Hobeika gown that combined sheer illusion and sculptural details. The breathtaking dress also featured a dramatically plunging deep V-neckline that extended to her mid torso.
Bell was a vision in her naked dress that was heavily embellished with intricate silver beading and sequins, as well as fabric contouring her waistline and a pleated satin overskirt. She added some extra height with Rene Caovilla platform heels.
She wore cocktail rings, a dazzling diamond necklace and stacked silver earrings, paired with a voluminous hairstyle that gave her an overall Old Hollywood look.
The naked dress trend continues to take over Tinseltown after becoming a solidified style fad in 2025.
“The naked dress has never been about exposure for me, it’s about liberation,” New York-based fashion designer LaQuan Smith, who created several racy dresses at last year’s Met Gala, shared with CNN in December 2025. “It’s about a woman choosing to show up exactly as she wants, in full control of her presence. When I design pieces that reveal the body, I’m thinking about confidence as an energy, not a flash.”
Jennifer Lawrence and Jennifer Lopez recently put their own spin on the trend during the 2026 Golden Globe Awards. The Hunger Games star, 35, wowed in a totally sheer couture Givenchy dress by Sarah Burton with floral embroidery, completing her look with a matching shawl.
J. Lo, 56, decided to flaunt her curves in a Jean-Louis Scherrer haute couture gown featuring baroque-style brown lace appliqué with a mermaid-style bottom.
Fashion Police alum Melissa Rivers spoke to Us Weekly exclusively after the Globes, saying she was ready for a new trend to sweep Hollywood while admitting that Lawrence did take her by surprise.
“I was like, holy s***,” she told Us. “Did I like the dress? Not particularly, but talking about stepping out of a box. Wow, and props for that.”
She pointed out that sartorial trends are cyclical, noting, “We go from bright colors to black and white. We go from structured and architectural to floaty and ethereal. Then we go to old Hollywood glamour, and then we seem to circle, you know, and then we go back to cutouts, and we go back to naked.”
“I just want to see them look like movie stars,” Rivers, 58, said, telling Us she favors a “big entrance.”
And Bell certainly delivered just that while hitting the red carpet before taking the stage to host at the Actor Awards.
“I have a shocking and hilarious lack of control in this job,” she told Elle ahead of the event. “What I do have complete control over is the hosting bits and the way that I’m presenting myself as a welcoming host.”
Bell said that her goal is to make attendees laugh and have a good time while at the star-studded ceremony. “That is my sole objective there,” she added. “I’m trying to make a room of my peers, some of whom I can barely call peers because I admire them so much, giggle.”
