Probiotics? They’re for suckers.
Kourtney Kardashian has launched a new addition to her Lemme line and it makes for quite an unexpected combo.
On Sunday, the newest iteration of her Lemme Purr supplements — the probiotic gummies and pills designed to support vaginal health — dropped exclusively at Target, and it comes in lollipop form.
Just like the $30-per-bottle gummies, the main ingredient in the new $5.99-per-pack lollipops is the probiotic bacterium Bacillus coagulans.
Probiotics can help maintain the vaginal microbiome, the ecosystem of bacteria and fungi that live inside the vagina.
That’s important, because when the vaginal microbiome isn’t healthy — say, there’s too much bad bacteria or not enough good bacteria — women are at risk for issues like bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections and aerobic vaginitis.
“It can also result in a higher risk of other health conditions, such as recurrent UTIs. Research has even linked certain shifts in the vaginal microbiome to pregnancy complications like preterm birth,” Olivia Cassano of Evvy, a company that specializes in women’s health services, previously told The Post.
B. coagulans in particular produces lactic acid, which helps our bodies maintain pH levels. It can also boost immunity and contribute to regulating blood sugar.
Some research also shows it can improve IBS symptoms like bloating, cramping and diarrhea.
The new lollipops are also made with vitamin C, which the brand says adds a boost of antioxidants and pro-collagen benefits, plus pineapple extract for flavor.
They’re vegetarian, gluten-free, non-GMO and made with real sugar, clocking in at 70 calories a pop.
This is the second lollipop supplement from Lemme. The first, Lemme Glow, was for hair, nails and skin and was strictly limited-edition — but Lemme says these pops are here to stay.
“Our community fell in love with our first lollipops, so I couldn’t wait to bring them back in a new way,” Kardashian said in a press release.
“Lemme Purr lollipops are such a fun extension of one of our best-sellers, Lemme Purr, and I love that they turn daily self-care into something sweet and simple.”
Kardashian is certainly at the forefront of the lollipop supplement trend, with her first ones having launched last year. She’s leading in the space, along with It Girl Vitamins, which sells lollipops with peptides and greens.
There are also a few options for kids, including Olly’s Focus Buddies L’OLLY Pops for children’s brain health, Multeez Daily Multivitamin Pops for Kids and YumEarth’s Vitamin C Pops.
