The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak is breaking her silence after her ex, Kroy Biermann, filed for full custody of their four minor children.
Biermann, 40, filed for custody on Monday, March 30, in Georgia, calling Zolciak’s parenting into question, per court documents viewed by Us Weekly. The former NFL star claimed that Zolciak had been out of the country for weeks at a time and that one of their minor children was bitten by a dog while in her care.
“These accusations are completely false and nothing more than a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character,” Zolciak said in a Monday statement to Us. “I spent five weeks away working on two TV shows to support my family and make sure my children are cared for — something I will never apologize for.”
“I refuse to be bullied or have lies twisted into a narrative about who I am. I will not stay silent; the truth is on my side, and it will come to light—no matter how hard anyone tries to bury it,” she continued.
Us reached out to Biermann’s rep for comment.
Biermann and Zolciak share children KJ, 14, Kash, 13, and twins Kaia and Kane, 11. Zolciak is also mom to daughters Brielle, 28, and Ariana, 24, from previous relationships, whom Biermann legally adopted.
In Monday’s court documents, Biermann alleged that his estranged wife had shown “blatant mismanagement of basic parenting responsibilities [that] would be practically unbelievable to anyone not familiar with the circumstances.”
The former couple split in mid-2023 after 11 years of marriage and are in the midst of a contentious divorce.
“[I] don’t know if it’ll ever be over. I wish it would be over tomorrow,” Zolciak exclusively told Us while attending BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas in November 2025. “It’s just difficult. I’ve never not been able to coparent with my ex and things like that. So, this is just [what] I want. I want to be able to coparent and do what’s best for our children.”
“If he needs help with having the kids somewhere, we can [help each other], but none of that happens,” she added at the time. “So, it’s just the divide [that] is what’s so disturbing to me, like, we’ve had a good life. We were together for a long time. We have four beautiful kids. Can we just figure it out?”
Zolciak told Us she wasn’t sure if the exes would ever reach an amicable resolution to their divorce.
“I don’t think so. I don’t know why,” she said. “I’ve tried many different avenues and different ways and different approaches and exhausted all my resources.”
