Kenneth Walker III did not want to stick around and reminisce after his first game in Seattle on Sunday night.
The former Seahawks running back, who signed with the Chiefs in the offseason, bolted for the locker room before the clock even hit zero in Kansas City’s 20-3 loss to Seattle without shaking hands with members of his former team. It was the Chiefs first loss of the season.
Walker went right toward the Chiefs tunnel before a Lumen Field worker stopped him to say hello to a Seahawks staffer.
Walker did not have a good trip back to Seattle, where he played the first four years of his NFL career and won a Super Bowl last season.
He had 14 carries and just 36 yards, with his longest run at just seven yards.
It was a stark contrast to the numbers he was putting up so far this season, with the running back recording more than 110 yards in four of the first five games of the season while rushing for two touchdowns in both of the Chiefs’ two previous games.
Speaking with reporters last week before the return, Walker tried to downplay the trip back to Seattle.
“I’m just focused on critiquing the mistakes we made,” Walker said. “Once we get to that point, we’ll see.”
