Justin Bieber offered insight into his dynamic with wife Hailey Bieber after months of speculation about their marriage.
The musician, 31, took to Instagram on Sunday, July 6, to share photos of himself hugging Hailey, 28, with “Careless Whisper” by George Michael set as the background music. Justin captioned the sweet photo, “My forever n always.”
Rumors about the status of Justin and Hailey’s relationship started earlier this year when both the pair appeared to have unfollowed each other on social media at different points. The duo each shut down the speculation, citing Instagram glitches.
In her May Vogue cover story, Hailey acknowledged that her postpartum journey has come with challenges after welcoming the couple’s first baby, son Jack, in August 2024.
“Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through in my life, and learning a new version of myself is very difficult,” Hailey shared. “And to be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, ‘They’re getting divorced and they’re this and they’re not happy’: It is such a mindf***. I cannot even begin to explain it. It’s a crazy life to live.”
The speculation continued, however, when Justin shared nearly 20 posts for Father’s Day in June.
“Things aren’t great right now,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time, adding that Justin’s behavior has caused “a lot of stress” for Hailey.
A second insider noted that Justin has been “going through a difficult time” and Hailey is “giving him room to get himself back on track.”
“Things have been very tense in the last month. Hailey’s worried about Justin, especially with a [baby at home]. He hasn’t been down like this in quite some time, so there’s concern,” the second source explained. “Faith is a big part of their life. They believe they are soulmates and meant for each other.”
Justin and Hailey have previously been outspoken about the effort it takes to make their relationship work. They first started dating in 2015 before calling it quits one year later. After their split, Justin briefly rekindled his on-off romance with Selena Gomez, but the exes parted ways for good in 2018.
Later that year, Justin and Hailey rekindled their relationship and got engaged. They exchanged vows in a New York City courthouse in September 2018 before hosting a second wedding ceremony one year later.
“I remember I called [my mom] a few different times, one particular time [when] we were in Brooklyn and I was calling her, crying, and I was like, ‘I just can’t do it. There’s no way that I’m going to be able to do this if it’s going to be like this forever,’” Hailey recalled during an episode of the “In Good Faith with Chelsea & Judah Smith” podcast in November 2021. “And I just remember she was so calm on the phone and she was like, ‘It’s going to pass, you’re going to be fine and he’s going to be healthy and we’re here for you.’”
Hailey was proud of her choice to stand by her husband throughout his public ups and downs.
“But I also just think I was in it. I made a decision. I know for a fact that I’ve loved this person for a very long time and now would not be the time to give up on him. I just wouldn’t do that to him,” she continued. “Imagine abandoning somebody in the middle of the worst time of their life, potentially. I’m not that type of a person.”
Hailey concluded: “So I was going to stick it out no matter what the outcome was going to be. It was really hard. There were days where I literally was like, ‘I don’t know if he’s going to be OK.’ Something really deep down inside of me was like, ‘He’s going to be through it.’ I just didn’t know how long it was going to take.”
