John Harbaugh isn’t worried about his Ravens job security with season nearly lost

News RoomBy News RoomDecember 23, 20251 ViewsNo Comments

John Harbaugh isn’t focusing on anything other than the Ravens game against the Packers on Saturday, even with questions about his job security starting to arise.

The Ravens are on the cusp of being eliminated from postseason contention despite coming into the year as a heavy favorite to reach the Super Bowl.

At 7-8, Baltimore can be knocked out of the running for the playoffs with a loss to Green Bay or a win by the Steelers against the Browns on Sunday.

“I try to do the job, not try to keep the job,” Harbaugh told reporters on Monday, per ESPN, as he was asked about his job security. “My focus has been for the last 18 years here and the last 41 years in coaching is to try to do the best job I can today and fight as hard as I can so the guys have the best chance to be successful today. And anything after today, I’m not thinking about because it’s not given for us to think about.”

The Ravens head coach sidestepped a question about any reassurances from owner Steve Bisciotti about coaching in Baltimore next season, telling reporters the “future is today” and “the future is the Green Bay Packers.”

Harbaugh indicated Bisciotti has been supportive, while also calling him “challenging.”

“Steve wants to win. He wants to be successful,” Harbaugh said. “I’ve been around a lot of competitors in this job or even my family and there’s no bigger competitor than Steve Bisciotti. And that’s one of the many things I admire about him and appreciate of him.”

The Ravens have a losing record in December for the first time in nearly a decade and their six losses at home are the most in a single season in the franchise’s history.

Harbaugh’s situation isn’t being helped by the uncertainty of quarterback Lamar Jackson’s health, which included a back contusion that forced him to exit Sunday’s game against the Patriots early.

Baltimore had gone 1-5 to start the year before winning five straight games to turn things around.

However, they’ve dropped three of their last four games, including a 28-24 heartbreaker to the Patriots on Sunday night.
