When the NBA All-Star Game rolls around in February, Jimmy Butler is hoping he’s not a part of it.
The Warriors star made it clear on Instagram on Monday that he would prefer not to be selected for the league’s 2026 showcase of its best players.
Butler actually instructed fans to send their votes elsewhere while writing in the comment section of a Golden State post that had advocated for his All-Star candidacy.
“Don’t vote for me guys,” the 36-year-old wrote. “Instead somebody create a gofundme to send me to Barbados. ❤️❤️❤️. Thanks in advance. GO WARRIORS.”
Butler has been named an All-Star on six separate occasions since entering the league in 2011.
The last time he participated was during the 2021-22 season, and it seems obvious he’d rather see the streak of missing out continue.
Vacation desires aside, Butler is deserving of the honor. He’s averaged 19.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.5 steals per contest this season.
The All-Star Game is scheduled for Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. ET at Intuit Dome in Southern California.
Fan voting officially kicked off last week.
In total, 24 players will be selected to participate on three separate teams in the new iteration of the event.
