Jalen Hurts appears likely to miss Dallas Week at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Eagles quarterback — who remains in concussion protocol after being injured in last Sunday’s loss to the Commanders — is trending toward not being available for the team’s clash with the Cowboys on Sunday.
“It’s going to be tough for him to make it this week,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters Friday.
Hurts, who is also dealing with a left finger injury, did not practice both Wednesday and Thursday.
It appears Philadelphia will turn to backup Kenny Pickett, who was a full participant in Thursday’s practice, despite dealing with a rib injury.
Hurts exited last Sunday’s game and did not return after being hit in the head by Washington linebacker Frankie Luvu in the first quarter.
Pickett, who has yet to start for the Eagles this season, relieved him and was 14-of-24 for 143 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
The Eagles also have quarterback Tanner McKee and they signed QB Ian Book to practice squad this week.
Philadelphia (12-3) can clinch the NFC East title with a win over Dallas on Sunday, and welcome the Giants in Week 18 when Saquon Barkley may be going for the rushing record.
The Eagles are still in the hunt for the conference’s No. 1 seed but trail the Lions (13-2) — and the Vikings, although Detroit holds the tiebreaker — by one game.
