It may seem, based on the NFL playoff picture, that tonight’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Chicago Bears isn’t a matchup worth much, but both teams are coming into Week 17 with something to play for.
The Seahawks are on the playoff bubble. They would be out if the playoffs began today, but they aren’t completely out of the picture yet. With a win today, they could ensure they’d end the 2024-25 season with a winning record in their first season under new head coach Mike Macdonald.
The Bears, already mathematically eliminated, are entering tonight on a nine-game losing streak. All four of their wins this season came at home, so they’re hoping to end the streak tonight during their final home game of the season.
