No matter what happens on Sunday, fútbol history will be made in the Meadowlands.

Following a dramatic comeback victory over England, Lionel Messi’s defending champion Argentina takes the pitch against Lamine Yamal’s dominant Spain on July 19 in the highly-anticipated 2026 World Cup Final.

If you’d like to be there to see if La Albiceleste can become the first country to repeat since 1962 (!) or catch La Roja win it all for the first time and set the record for the longest unbeaten streak in international soccer history, last-minute tickets are still available.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats was $7,857 including fees on SeatGeek.

100-level seats start at $13,696 including fees.

Make sure to use promo code NYPOST10 for $10 off purchases over $250 at checkout (Editor’s Note: this discount is only valid for users’ first purchase on SeatGeek).

Although Messi and Lamal met long ago — by chance, La Pulga took a photo with El Dimoniet when he was just a baby in 2007 (!) — Sunday’s showdown will also be the first time the two generational superstars meet on the pitch.

Prior to this high-stakes showdown, Spain has won five of their 13 meetings against Argentina. The only time the pair squared off on the pitch in the World Cup was way back in 1966 in a group stage match. Argentina won 2-1.

Oddsmakers give La Roja the advantage here, with Spain at -160 to take home the FIFA World Cup Trophy.

Of course, Argentina shouldn’t be counted out. Every time they’re down, La Albiceleste comes back like they did against England after having been down for the majority of the semifinal match.

“Relying on Lionel Messi to bail you out is not exactly a bad plan, but there have been cracks,” The Post wrote about Argentina. “Late winners against Egypt, 10-man Switzerland and finally England were great viewing for neutrals, but not the sort of evidence you want to see from a title contender. They’ll have to be far more complete against Spain at MetLife.”

Whatever happens, don’t miss this Finals match. Fútbol history is on the line.

Plus, as a bonus, Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Justin Bieber, Burna Boy, and Gustavo Dudamel will perform at Coldplay’s Chris Martin’s curated halftime show.

We’ll see you on the pitch at MetLife.

What’s the best way to get to MetLife Stadium for World Cup matches?

Although transit to the World Cup has undoubtedly been a hot topic, there are quite a few options to get to the Meadowlands for the games (rather than walk as some out-of-towners have suggested).

These are your best bets:

• Eat the $105 round-trip cost (slashed from a previously-announced $150) and take the NJT. Trains will be running back and forth to Secaucus Junction where you can transfer to the Meadowlands rail line, which takes you two minutes away from the Stadium.

• Board the official NYNJ Stadium Shuttle. Direct round-trip buses can be picked up at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Midtown East in Manhattan, and the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine Park-and-Ride in New Jersey. Be aware that tickets must be secured in advance through the New Jersey Transit World Cup platform. The major downside here? Potential traffic. The major upside? The Post reported that “round-trip bus fares for fans attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been cut by 75%…from $80 to $20.”

• Risk everything and book an Uber or Lyft. There are drop-off and pick-up zones outside MetLife. The major detractor here are likely exorbitant surge pricing and wait times. Proceed with caution here!
