The fight of the century finally has a date.
On Friday, Sept. 12, Ring Magazine title holder Canelo Álvarez will go head-to-head with undefeated Terence “Bud” Crawford in a massive TKO Boxing match at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium that will determine who holds the Ring, WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles.
Álvarez and Crawford announced they’d be facing off for the first time in their storied careers this past Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after IBF Title holder Canelo (63-2-2, 39 KOs) handily defeated William Scull (23-1, 9 KOs) via decision.
“Crawford is one of the best out there, and…I like to share the ring with that kind of fighter,” Álvarez said, whose only two career losses have come at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Dmitry Bivol. “It’s my pleasure.”
As noted above, Crawford is yet to lose over the course of his professional career. His record currently sits at 41-0 with 31 KOs.
