Months before Bill Belichick’s relationship with 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson was revealed in the summer of 2024, the former college cheerleader was spending time close to the Patriots’ quarters.
That’s according to a new report published Tuesday by The New York Times, which alleged Hudson attended training camp practices during the conclusion of the coach’s tenure in New England, with Belichick, 73, apparently having a say in her fiery wardrobe choices.
“When she attended training camp practices, she often wore red pants at the request of Mr. Belichick, so that he might more easily spot her in the crowd,” The Times reported, citing an unnamed source who knows the eight-time Super Bowl winner.
When the season got underway in the fall, Hudson “frequently joined” Belichick at a team hotel when the Patriots stayed close to Gillette Stadium ahead of home games in Foxborough, the Belichick insider alleged.
The Patriots parted ways with Belichick in January 2024 following 24 years at the helm, including that dismal 4-13 season in 2023.
In the wake of his Patriots’ exit, Belichick pivoted to sports media roles after being passed over for the Falcons’ coaching job, which went to Raheem Morris.
By June 2024, Belichick’s relationship with Hudson had been revealed.
They are said to have met aboard a 2021 flight to West Palm Beach.
Since the romance became public fodder, much has been discussed about Hudson’s role in Belichick’s professional affairs as he embarks on his next coaching journey at UNC.
In a May 2025 interview with ESPN, Belichick confirmed Hudson is not involved in the football operations of the Tar Heels’ program.
“That’s really off to the side, it’s a personal relationship. She doesn’t have anything to do with UNC football,” Belichick said.
Despite the intense speculation surrounding Hudson’s presence at UNC, her romance with Belichick appears to be moving to the next level.
The Times reported Tuesday that Hudson “has told at least one person” she and Belichick “are engaged.”
Belichick was previously in a long-term relationship with Linda Holliday, whom he had been linked to since 2007.
The Nantucket social scene has sided with Holliday following her breakup with Belichick, with Page Six reporting Monday that Hudson, looking “to get more involved” in philanthropic endeavors, is being “iced out.”
“People on Nantucket are pretty sophisticated. You could be sitting at Galley Beach restaurant and if [Hudson] walked in, 90% of the place would roll their eyes. No one is going to be welcoming her with open arms,” a source said.
Holliday’s split from Belichick was reported in 2023.
