Hiking influencer Hannah Moody is being remembered by her loved ones after her death at age 31.
“On Thursday, May 22, 2025, our dear friend Hannah Moody was tragically found near the Gateway Trailhead of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve in Scottsdale, Arizona, after being reported missing the day before,” the GoFundMe read. “Despite an extensive search effort, she was taken from us far too soon.”
The statement continued, “We are devastated, and words can’t fully express the loss we feel. Hannah was a light in this world — bold, beautiful, kind, and deeply faithful. To know Hannah was to know love, and to know God. She was the blueprint of what it means to live by faith — obedient, loyal, and humble. She lived her life unashamedly for God, putting her testimony on display so others could witness His work through her.”
The GoFundMe noted that the page is a “space to honor Hannah’s life, her faith and her story” which “continues to inspire and change lives.”
“Her light deserves to be remembered, shared, and celebrated,” the statement read. “We’re still in the process of thoughtfully planning how we will honor Hannah in a lasting and meaningful way. Please know that 100 percent of any donations made will go directly toward something as beautiful and impactful as Hannah was. Thank you for your love, your prayers, and for helping us carry forward her legacy.”
The statement was signed “with love” from friend Madison Fennell.
The Scottsdale Police Department confirmed in a May press release that Moody’s body was found 600 yards off a popular trail. The press release noted that “detectives and crime scene personnel would conduct a thorough investigation to piece together what happened to Hannah and how she died.”
“Our investigation will be in cooperation with the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner, which will ultimately determine the cause of death,” the statement read. “The investigation is in its early stages, but there are no obvious signs of foul play or trauma at this point.”
After news broke of her death, Hannah’s mom, Terri Moody, told Arizona’s Family that “it’s like a mystery to us right now.” She noted that the family is “trying to piece it all together.”
“We’re all assuming it was heat-related. But that’s inconclusive. There were no signs of foul play,” Terri said in May. “We don’t know of any conditions that she had or anything like that that would have caused anything.”
