MILWAUKEE –– The Dodgers made one change to their playoff roster for their National League Championship Series against the Brewers, adding pitcher Justin Wrobleski and dropping speedster Hyeseong Kim.
Veteran infielder Miguel Rojas was also included in the group, confirming he will be available for the series despite battling a back injury in recent days.
Ahead of Game 1 of the NLCS on Sunday, the Dodgers announced their 26-man squad for the series –– which, unlike in the NL Division Series, was equally balanced with 13 pitchers and 13 position players.
Wrobleski was the extra arm added, coming off an All-Star season in which he went 12-5 with a 3.66 ERA, but also struggled with home run problems down the stretch.
The 26-year-old will likely provide insurance in a long-relief role. He also gives the Dodgers another left-hander out of the bullpen.
Kim’s removal was no surprise, after he spent much of the season in triple-A and was only called back up to be a base-running and defensive specialist in the NLDS.
The only way he might have survived would have been if Rojas was unable to go because of his back problem, which he suffered in Game 3 of the NLDS and left him unavailable for Game 4.
However, Rojas came through a couple workouts this week feeling good, ensuring he will remain in the Dodgers’ plans.
Everything about the team’s playoff roster also remained unchanged, as they enter a marquee pitching matchup Sunday night that will see Tarik Skubal face off with Jacob Misiorowski.
