Ciara Responds to the Public Thinking She and Russell Wilson Are the Perfect Couple

Ciara and Russell Wilson are not pressed by the public thinking they are a perfect couple.

“That definitely is a part of life. I don’t think we can live life that way — thinking or worrying about [the public],” Ciara, 39, said in Us Weekly’s exclusive clip from this week’s episode of Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals. “We just have to live life as us.”

Ciara has been open about how she manifested Wilson, 36, before they met, but she didn’t think his love would come along so quickly.

“I thought I was going to be single for, like, four years before he came into my life,” she continued. “He said, like, 10 I think it was for him. Obviously, we plan, and God laughs.”

Ciara and Wilson started dating in 2015, getting married the following year. The couple are parents to Sienna, 8, Win, 5, and Amora, 19 months. (Ciara is also the mother to son Future Zahir, 11, whom she shares with ex Future.)

Ciara said both she and Wilson share their “beautiful love” with God as well as each other.

“I think there’s something beautiful and powerful to how God can work things out in your life and the way that he has for us,” the singer continued. “We love giving love. I always love Russ’ philosophy. He talks about attitude of servitude and loving big. It’s kind of the only way for us.”

The singer said she loves getting “to do everything” with Wilson through their love.

“We get to impact together,” Ciara continued. “I don’t think we want to think about life that way, but we do know the world will definitely have things to say. But again, it comes with it.”

She added: “As long as we know we’re loving as best as we can and giving our best and loving the right way. We always say, ‘Jesus is at the center.’ Everything else will take care of itself.”

Ciara and Wilson proved their love is stronger than ever earlier this month when celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary.

“From the moment I met you, I knew God was showing me the way. Every day since has been a reflection of His grace — full of love, laughter, purpose, and the kind of partnership I used to pray for. Happy Anniversary, my queen,” the NFL star shared via Instagram on July 6. “You light up my life in ways words can’t explain. Here’s to the journey we’ve walked…and the one we’re still writing together. I love you, endlessly.”
