If we consider the boner to be a vital sign, Bryan Johnson’s johnson is doing just fine.
The notorious biohacker shared the secret behind his “three-hour long titanic nighttime erections” to his more than half a million X followers.
Johnson noted what while he takes 2.5 mg of tadalafil, otherwise known as Cialis, each day, the purpose is longevity, not site-specific elongation.
Studies have shown that drugs like Cialis can slow cognitive decline in older patients, lessen urinary problems, lower the risk of heart disease in men by up to 39% — and even help reduce the risk of early death.
“My nighttime erections are better than the average 18-year-old, but Cialis is unlikely to play a meaningful role in them or even my sexual function.”
Johnson claims that when he began taking the drug in the summer of 2023 his sexual function was normal. He says that while drugs like Cialis can repair erectile dysfunction, they are unlikely to enhance normal function — and enhancement is the name of the game for Johnson and his johnson.
“We set out to increase my nighttime erections. NTEs are a strong biomarker of cardiovascular, psychological and sexual health,” he said.
To up the erection ante, he began a protocol of focused shockwave therapy and Botox.
Previous research found injections of the anti-wrinkle drug into the penis helped strengthen erections in test subjects. It’s theorized that Botox — a muscle relaxant usually injected into the face — helps improve erections by relaxing the smooth muscle in the walls of blood vessels in the penis.
If needles in your peen don’t sound awful enough, shockwave therapy entails using a wand to shock the penis through acoustic technology.
The shocks, which are not electrical, work similarly to workouts by creating “micro-injuries” that the muscle then rebuilds.
The treatment is “painful,” said Johnson, describing the ouch factor as a 7/10 — but a 9/10 “at the tip.”
But it seems for Johnson, the pain is well worth the gains.
After three months of the combined Botox and shock therapy, he claims his nighttime erections improved by 34%. The protocol raised his NTEs from 2 hours and 15 minutes to around 3 hours and brought his nighttime erection biological age to around 20.
It’s unclear what Johnson is doing with all that bonus boner health as he allegedly schedules sex, sleeps alone and keeps to an 8:30 p.m. bedtime.
Johnson has created a publicity storm with his extreme age-reversal methods, which include an incredibly strict diet and exercise regime.
He takes 111 supplements a day, with hopes to eventually make all of his major organs — including his brain, liver, kidneys, teeth, skin, hair and rectum — functioning as they were in his late teens.
He hopes that in being transparent with his treatments, he will inspire men to seek help with their own sexual health,
“Men, if you’re not performing how you’d like, there are many paths to improvement. There’s no shame in this, and in fact, it will make you more of a man to address it head-on.”
We assume that pun is intended.
In terms of natural ways to boost erectile dysfunction, Dr. David Shusterman, MD, a board-certified urologist based in New York told The Post men should aim to optimize their overall heath.
“Manage stress and also exercise. If you have medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart issues or kidney problems, be sure to keep them under control and limit alcohol intake.”
