Broncos quickly respond to odd Aaron Rodgers report

News RoomBy News RoomApril 1, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

At least there’s been one development on Aaron Rodgers’ future this week.

As rumors continue to swirl about what’s next for the future Hall of Famer and whether that includes another season under center, Broncos reporters swiftly pushed back against a report Wednesday from Pro Football Talk that indicated “there’s talk of the Broncos possibly bringing Rodgers in for a visit.”

“Aaron Rodgers is not coming to Denver for a visit. When the Broncos take the field to start OTAs, they will be quarterbacked by Bo Nix. Carry on,” The Athletic’s Nick Kosmider wrote on X on Wednesday, which happens to be April Fool’s Day.

“There is ‘less than a zero percent chance’ Aaron Rodgers will visit with the Broncos, per source,” Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports posted on X. “It’s April Fools and that story is completely false.”

A third reporter, Mike Klis of 9News, wrote “source says ‘zero percent’ chance of this happening.”

The chatter surrounding Rodgers, 42, and the Broncos comes as Denver’s starting quarterback, Bo Nix, works his way back from a season-ending ankle injury.

The former first-round pick sustained the injury in January when the Broncos outlasted the Bills in the divisional round, 33-30.

Backup Jarrett Sitdham was given the keys in the AFC Championship, which was a crushing 10-7 defeat to the Patriots at Mile High.

Coach Sean Payton relayed this week at the NFL meetings in Arizona that Nix, 26, is ahead of schedule with his recovery.

Organized Team Activities (OTAs) typically take place around May and June.

The Broncos are looking to build off an impressive 14-3 run in the regular season that saw the team clinch the top seed in the AFC.

Elsewhere in the conference, the Steelers are waiting to hear if Rodgers intends to return.

The four-time league MVP spent the 2025 season in Pittsburgh and led the team to a playoff appearance after posting a 10-7 record.

He threw for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions during the regular season.

The Steelers hope to have an answer from the quarterback by the 2026 NFL Draft, which begins April 23.
