Raiders fans are expecting star tight end Brock Bowers to eat on the field this season.
Bowers is certainly eating more than his fair share off the field, albeit not from his fiancée, Cameron Newell.
Raiders punter Adam Cole’s wife, Kylie, is hosting a podcast series on the team’s YouTube channel that’s called, “4th & Cole.” Newell was the guest on an episode that aired on Friday, when the two talked about Bowers’ “obsession” with the sloppy joe sandwiches at the Raiders’ practice facility.
“Brock loves, LOVES, the chefs at the facility. He has a very strong connection with them… One day, he came home, and he’s like, ‘Oh my god, they made sloppy joes at the facility, they’re so good.’ I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I didn’t even know you liked sloppy joes. Do you want me to make them for you, for dinner?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh no, I can only eat them at the facility.’”
“A couple days ago, he had three sloppy joes before 10 a.m. And that’s actually a record,” Newell added. “And I’m like, ‘How’s your stomach? OK? How do you just not run to the bathroom after that?’ But then he won’t let me make them for him.”
Newell and Bowers got engaged in July. Hopefully, Bowers has some dishes that he lets Newell recreate. Then again, he seems content with whatever the Raiders’ chefs are whipping up.
