The Bills are bolstering their pass-rush ahead of the playoffs.
Buffalo announced its intention to sign Matthew Judon after he was recently waived by the Dolphins, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Friday.
“The Bills hosted veteran edge Matthew Judon today and they intend to sign him to their practice squad,” Rapoport posted on X. “Potential help for the playoff push from the former Dolphin.”
The four-time Pro Bowler returns to the AFC East after spending three seasons with the New England Patriots from 2021 to 2023.
After spending his first five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, Judon signed a three-year, $46 million contract with the Patriots and immediately racked up career-high sack totals in back-to-back seasons.
His 15.5 sacks in 2022 were tied for the fourth-most in the league.
Judon fled for Atlanta in 2024, where he struggled to replicate the same success.
Now 33, the pass rusher struggled immensely in 13 games with the Dolphins, tallying just 19 total tackles and failing to record a single sack for the first time in his career.
The Bills (10–4, 2nd AFC East) are hoping the 10-year vet still has some gas left in the tank as they attempt to strengthen their struggling pass-rush ahead of the postseason.
As it stands, Buffalo ranks 30th in opponent yards per attempt (8.1) and 31st in opponent completion rate (69.7 percent) — sitting just outside the NFL’s bottom 10 in passing yards allowed.
With the dynastic Chiefs out of the picture, the Josh Allen-led Bills seemingly have their best shot in years to reach the Super Bowl for the first time in 32 years.
Buffalo is currently the sixth seed in the AFC playoff picture and owns a 99 percent chance of a postseason berth, according to NFL.com.
Riding the momentum from three straight wins — capped by a come-from-behind triumph against the division-leading Patriots — the Bills will look to keep the momentum rolling against the Browns in Cleveland on Sunday afternoon.
