Sasaki’s first MLB start on March 19 against the Cubs was a brief one, lasting just three innings and 56 pitches.

The 23-year-old right-hander walked five batters, which may have prompted Dodgers manager Dave Roberts to make the quick change, but his low pitch total suggests the team may not be looking to stretch Sasaki out so early into his MLB career.

Sasaki has proven that he can rack up the strikeouts against big leaguers, punching out 10 in 10 innings combined between Spring Training and the Tokyo Series.

What I’m not so sure of is the Dodgers allowing him to pitch deep into a game, at least anytime soon.
