Arizona Dad Missing for Months Was Likely Murdered, Relatives Still Want to ‘Bring Him Home’

News RoomBy News RoomMarch 16, 20260 ViewsNo Comments

Relatives of an Arizona father who has been missing for months say that they believe he was murdered.

Kyle Smith was last heard from on July 14, 2025, while talking to his wife on his cell phone. His family later told the Arizona Republic that his phone was found in front of Country Gables Park, while Smith, 26, has not yet been located.

Smith’s mother, Kristen Cline, told the Republic on Tuesday, March 10, that detectives informed her that the son has been linked as the victim in what appeared to be a murder scene that took place at the park.

Cline said that authorities found a large amount of blood at the scene, though Smith’s body has not yet been recovered.

“We are still desperately trying to bring him home. He just needs to come home and my heart won’t lay to rest until he is here with us,” she said.

It is not currently clear if police know anything about the blood found at the park or if they have suspicions of what may have transpired at the scene.

Phoenix Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Zak told the outlet on Friday, March 13, that Smith’s missing persons case was open and remained active. Additionally, Zak said she could not confirm whether or not Smith was dead.

Cline also told the outlet that police do not suspect a family member was involved in Smith’s disappearance or possible death.

Before he went missing, Smith was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first son in early September 2025. Family members said that his disappearance was especially confusing because he was planning to start rehab for alcohol abuse so that he could be a more present father for his son and his two daughters.

Cline went on to tell the outlet that she was sad that Smith’s children will grow up without their father. She noted that the experience will be similar to his own, as Smith also lost his dad when he was a child.

Authorities are asking that anyone with information regarding Smith’s disappearance contact the Phoenix Police Department at (602) 262-6151 or share tips directly with investigators. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS (948-6377) with any information they may have. Meanwhile, those who speak Spanish can call (480) TESTIGO (837-8446).

Smith’s neighbors have also been asked to review doorbell and security camera footage in case they are able to find any information that may help with the investigation.

Smith’s loved ones have described him fondly, with one tribute remembering him as “fierce” and “loyal.” He was also remembered for loving “his family deeply” in the tribute viewed by the outlet.

Two memorials have been held in Smith’s honor after the family shared their suspicions that he had been killed. His friends and family gathered on the evening of Saturday, March 14, at the Roadrunner Restaurant and Saloon for the first memorial, while a second was also held on the evening of March 14 at Bull Shooters.
