For a second straight night, Anthony Volpe was not the starting shortstop for the Yankees.
But Volpe remains the Yankees starting shortstop.
The struggling, third-year infielder, who has gone from a beloved, homegrown prospect to the target of boos in The Bronx because of his lack of production, is receiving a “reset,” manager Aaron Boone said, before he is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday for the final kick of the season.
During that final kick, Volpe will play “regularly,” Boone said.
