Amanza Smith dropped a shocking drug confession relating to Nicole Young during season 9 of Selling Sunset.
The hit Netflix series returned on Wednesday, October 29, with another argument about Nicole’s alleged substance use. Nicole, 39, denied Chrishell Stause‘s allegations about her overdosing on cocaine, which took an unexpected turn. But before Nicole was fired for what she told Chrishell, 44, the former Oppenheim Group agent defended herself against various allegations.
“You used to do drugs. Who cares?” Amanza, 48, told Nicole, who fired back that she only liked “weed edibles” in the past.
Amanza denied Nicole’s version of events. “You used to do drugs, you almost OD’d and then stopped,” she added. “It’s Los Angeles. Everybody has done cocaine.”
Nicole continued to deny the claims before walking out. Amanza, however, stood by her version of events, telling the cameras, “She used to do blow. I’ve done it with her. I’ll say it. We were young and we did it.”
The allegations were first brought up in season 6, when Chrishell told Nicole that she was acting “cracked out” and accused her of being on drugs.
“I’m not going to be accused of being a crackhead by someone who has nothing else to throw at me,” Nicole responded. She then took a drug test and threatened legal action if Chrishell continued to accuse her of illicit drug use.
The feud escalated in season 7, when Nicole brought up rumors that Emma Hernan was allegedly sleeping with a married man. In response, Chrishell made it clear she had no plans to work with Nicole in the future.
“At the end of the day, obviously I have very strong feelings about her that I stand 10 toes down on and I don’t take any of that back. I believe every bit of it,” Chrishell said in an October 2024 TikTok video. “However, I am also a business woman. I always will be able to change my mind if you add a zero. So listen, I hate her, but if you are going to pay me a ton of money to go say it to her face, then write the check.”
Nicole’s screen time was later put on pause.
“I had a call with production two days ago during which they told me I have absolutely not been fired from the cast but they chose to pause my filming schedule until next week in order to protect me from situations on set that had become very contentious,” Nicole told Us Weekly in a statement in January. “I’m still debating whether or not I want to continue filming in this kind of environment, especially with so many infuriating double standards.”
She continued: “Selling Sunset has been a great opportunity and a wild ride, but it is not my life or identity. I have a big, beautiful life outside of the show… and thankfully in the real world, my life and personality can’t be edited or misconstrued to portray me negatively to fit into a produced storyline.”
