Aaron Glenn made a big move this week, firing defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.
I have been reading some fans’ reactions on X and in our subscriber text-message thread, and I’m interested to see that some of you are down on Glenn after the move because it underscores that he made a mistake when he hired Wilks in January. I actually looked at it positively for Glenn because he recognized his error and moved to correct it. Many coaches would have been stubborn.
The reaction reminded me how Glenn has a long way to go still to convince fans he is the guy who can turn this team around. A 3-11 record will do that.
I am not ready to say Glenn is the guy, but I’m also not ready to say he’s not. I think he still has a lot to prove as we wrap up his first year on the job.
