PHILADELPHIA – Despite his unresolved contract situation, Karl-Anthony Towns started his championship defense on a run of efficiency.
He is shooting an exquisite 58% through five games, a career best projected across the season. He was also averaging 21.8 points and 13.8 rebounds before Friday’s matchup in Philly.
All-Star numbers.
But Towns was also being held back by an old enemy: foul trouble.
