Cody Bellinger has gone Platinum.
The Yankees outfielder, already announced as a Gold Glove winner earlier this week, was awarded the American League’s Platinum Glove award as the junior circuit’s top defensive player on Friday night.
Cubs center fielder — and former Mets prospect — Pete Crow-Armstrong took home the award for the National League.
All Gold Glove winners from each league are eligible for the Platinum honor, and a winner is determined by a fan vote.
Bellinger is the second Yankee to win the top defensive honor after catcher Jose Trevino took home the award in 2022.
The 2026 All-Star spent 130 games in the outfield, 123 of which were in left field.
He ranked in the 87th percentile in fielding run value and recorded six outs above average, which ranked in the 91st percentile, according to Baseball Savant.
Bellinger was third in all of baseball with 21 defensive runs saved.
In more traditional defensive metrics, Bellinger had a .989 fielding percentage with eight assists as an outfielder in 2026. He also spent some time (six games) at first base, speaking to his defensive versatility.
It was a year to remember for Bellinger’s trophy case, as he had already won the All-Star Game MVP thanks to a two-run single of the AL’s win in Philadelphia in July.
