The Season 2 Renewal
Amazon MGM Studios greenlit a second season before season 1 dropped in May 2026. Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, gave the show an early vote of confidence in a public statement announcing season 2.
“Off Campus captures the kind of emotionally charged, character-driven storytelling that truly resonates with our global Prime Video audience,” Friedlander said. “With its passionate fan base, rich source material, and an incredible creative team bringing Briar U to life, we knew that this series had the depth and momentum to continue beyond its first season.”
The next batch of episodes will premiere on Prime Video on April 28, 2027.
The ‘Off Campus’ Season 2 Couple
In a switch from Kennedy’s book order, Prime Video confirmed season 2 will center on Allie (Mika Abdalla) and Dean (Stephen Kalyn) — the central couple of book three, The Score. Fans had expected John Logan (Antonio Cipriano) and Grace Ivers (India Fowler) to lead the second season, since their love story plays out in book two, The Mistake.
Abdalla teased the season 2 adaptation will take liberties, much like the first run did.
“[It’s the] same as season 1 [where] season 1 didn’t exactly follow the books,” Abdalla said on a June 2026 episode of the “Hey Jonas!” podcast. “There’s some new fun stuff and some fun new little things that we’re adding in.”
Abdalla also explained why writers bumped Allie and Dean up.
“Allie and Hannah’s story lines are so connected to one another that it just made a lot of sense to touch on that this season,” she added.
Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli Are Returning as Hannah and Garrett
Despite the rotating-couple format, season 1 leads Ella Bright (Hannah) and Belmont Cameli (Garrett) will be back.
“I totally understand your concern,” Cameli told Us about the show’s format. “We will be along for the ride the whole time.”
Bright confirmed she and Cameli are “sticking” around, with her costar adding, “We’re excited to see what season 2 holds for [us].”
Josh Heuston’s Justin Is Sitting Out Season 2
Levy confirmed in May 2026 that Josh Heuston’s Justin won’t appear next season — but the door for him to eventually return isn’t closed for good.
“Not next season, but I love Josh and I would not write him off if I can find a way to bring Justin back at some point,” Levy said. “We never got a chance to meet Stella, who is the person he ends up with in the book. So maybe we’ll find a way to fold him into a future season.”
At Prime Video’s Obsessed Fest in June 2026, Levy revealed Heuston’s exit and how Hannah’s smaller songwriting arc will reshape the soundtrack.
“There’s going to be less live songs,” Levy said. “But we still have a lot of music in other ways.”
Season 2 Was Underway Before the First Debuted
Levy told Us the writers’ room finished all eight season 2 scripts before season 1 premiered.
“We have all eight scripts written,” Levy said. “We’ve given [two] to the actors but the writers’ room is done. It doesn’t mean that we can’t make adjustments. But we do have the plan, we have the map [for the season].”
Cameli revealed during a July 2026 appearance on the “Therapuss” podcast that they’re “almost finished with the first two episodes” of the second season.
“Getting back there and doing table reads, is just a really nice reminder that our show is in the right hands because every time we get one of these scripts,” he said. “They’re so well-written and our show really has a visual language now, and it’s been fun to see that what we established in season 1, get translated into a really firm identity for season 2.”
Filming wrapped in September 2026.
There Will Be Emotional Moments
Creator Levy shared during Obsessed Fest in June 2026 that fans can expect “lots of tears.”
