Emma Slater has her boyfriend, Alan Bersten, to lean on after her Dancing With the Stars season 35 exit.
“I’m so proud of you @theemmaslater!!” Bersten, 32, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, October 27. “You bring the absolute best out of everyone, and @jacksonolson_ really shined this season! I love you baby.”
Bersten shared sweet snaps of him and Slater, 37, inside a DWTS trailer, including one of him kissing her head as he placed an arm around her shoulders. Bersten, who was eliminated from the show with partner Giada De Laurentiis in September, made his romance with Slater official in early 2025.
For Tuesday’s Horror Movie-themed night, Slater and partner Jackson Olson performed a contemporary to Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life” and earned a combined score of 35 out of 40 from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli and guest judge Shirley Ballas.
The pair, however, left the competition in a double elimination alongside Bachelor Nation’s Tyler Cameron and pro Sharna Burgess.
“I wanted to be on this since last year, and I made a bunch of videos about it, and I got on it, and I got the most amazing partner in Emma,” Olson, 29, said in Tuesday’s episode. “This journey has been amazing.”
While balancing a busy DWTS schedule, Olson had also been traveling for games with the Savannah Bananas earlier in the season. After the pair were at the bottom of the leaderboard during Yacht Rock Night, Olson reflected on balancing both obligations.
“It’s not an excuse,” he told Us in September, referring to their schedule. “But I did feel today, where I’m like, ‘I’m feeling it a little bit. I’m feeling that travel a little bit.’ I think it’ll be really nice that we only have two games this week and one game next week, and then we’re done with our season.”
At the time, Olson was looking forward to having a “full week in L.A. to rehearse” after flying across the country.
“I have to think of it as a normal thing because if I think of it as, ‘Whoa, this is crazy,’ then I’ll be crazy, and I’ll act differently,” Olson continued. “But I’m just like, ‘This is the most normal thing ever.’ Like, ‘This is easy.’ I have to think that. But then sometimes, I’m like, ‘No, it actually is really hard.’”
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
