Journalist rips into Kamala Harris’ team as he reveals her campaign’s sketchy tactics

News RoomBy News RoomOctober 26, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Amid speculation she may run for president a third time, Kamala Harris appears to be keeping a closed-door policy to certain members of the press ahead of the midterm elections.

The latest report of blocked media access came Saturday in New Hampshire, where Leonard Robinson — a journalist for the right-leaning NHJournal — said he was refused entry to cover the former vice president’s appearance in Manchester.

Adding salt to the wound, Robinson said he RSVPed the previous day but was told his name wasn’t on the list — only to see a photographer who also wasn’t on the list gain entry after staffers told Robinson the event was full.

Robinson took to social media, noting on X that he previously covered Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia, New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, “who happily answered my question.”

“When I showed up at the @KamalaHarris event in Manchester tonight, I was told my name wasn’t on the list,” Robinson wrote.

A representative of Reproductive Freedom for All then spoke with Robinson before approaching staffers for U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas, according to the tweet thread.

Robinson identified a staffer who “waved her hands no and prevented my entry, citing ‘full capacity.’”

“Minutes later, a photographer showed up who was not on the list and was allowed in to cover the event. So much for ‘full capacity,’” Robinson wrote.

He said his attempts to get an explanation directly from the campaign also went nowhere.

“I asked repeatedly to speak with someone from the campaign directly. I was blocked from that, too,” he wrote.

Officials for Harris did not immediately respond to The California Post’s request for comment.

The incident occurred days after Harris drew an awkwardly muted response at a Mississippi rally, and weeks after KCRA 3 reporter Ashley Zavala said her station and The New York Times were excluded from a Sacramento campaign event on Oct. 2 featuring Harris and Democratic congressional candidate Richard Pan, a physician and former state senator running against incumbent Rep. Kevin Kiley.

Zavala reported that a Pan campaign spokesman placed responsibility with Harris’ office.

“All credentialing to the campaign office drop was directed by VP Kamala Harris’ office,” the spokesman told her.

However, Zavala subsequently reported that a person on Harris’ team denied responsibility and said Pan’s campaign handled press access.

Pan campaign manager Daisy Stein described the appearance as “a pooled press event,” according to Zavala, who disputed that characterization.

Zavala said there was no credential application process and that a handful of outlets received emails confirming they could attend. Neither Harris nor Pan took reporters’ questions, she said.

Limiting media access has increasingly become a partisan issue over the last year.

President Trump revoked White House press credentials for journalists from CNN, MS NOW and Politico in September, accusing the outlets of publishing “FICTION and LIES,” before a federal judge ordered their access restored.

Newsom’s office also has a history of restricting press access, excluding The Post from reviewing his tax returns in July while granting access to select news organizations.

Robinson said New Hampshire Democrats have previously “physically blocked” him and withheld event locations from his publication.

“Nothing compares to Harris’s visit,” he wrote.

He argued the exclusion undercut a defining feature of New Hampshire politics.

“I’m quite proud of New Hampshire’s tradition of grassroots, retail politics,” he wrote. “Denying press access is bad for the democratic process and the #FITN primary.”
