“Urgency’’ is a word used frequently in sports. Often, though, it’s misused and becomes an exaggeration.
In the case of the Jets, their urgency to win the game in front of them Sunday, against the Browns at home in MetLife Stadium, is indeed the proper use of the term.
The Jets are 1-3 and floundering, going the wrong way in the standings and in the way they’ve performed on the field.
You can make the argument that they should have defeated the Packers Week 2 at home, blowing a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, and could have won in Detroit in Week 3 with a chance to tie late in the game.
