Nicki Minaj, Dean Cain to join White House’s ‘Shark Tank’-style competition for entrepreneurs

News RoomBy News RoomSeptember 1, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Rapper Nicki Minaj and actor Dean Cain will join a “Shark Tank”-style White House event later this month as five American entrepreneurs compete for a share of a $1 million prize pool.

The finalists will compete in a live pitch competition in Washington, DC, on Sept. 18 before a celebrity panel and live audience, according to the Small Business Administration.

The show will be aired on television and stream online. More details on how to watch will be announced soon, a spokesperson for the SBA told The Post.

Minaj will be joined by private-equity titan Grant Cardone and Joe Gebbia, the co-founder of Airbnb who now serves as Trump’s chief design officer, to judge the finalists.

Cain – best known for his role as Superman in the 1990s television series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” – is set to host the event.

“Great American entrepreneurs themselves, Nicki Minaj, Grant Cardone, Joe Gebbia and Dean Cain will only add to the excitement of this historic celebration of free enterprise in the finale of our Million Dollar Pitch Competition,” SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler said in a statement.

“From building globally recognized personal and business brands and multibillion-dollar portfolios to launching innovative wellness solutions and digital platforms, each brings a unique, real‑world perspective on business growth and impact.”

The Trump administration launched the competition earlier this year as part of its celebrations for the nation’s 250th anniversary, receiving submissions from across the country.

Clover, a payment processor, is funding the $1 million cash prize pool.

All of the finalists will go home with a reward. The first-place winner will receive $400,000, while the second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-place finalists will get $250,000, $150,000, $125,000 and $75,000, respectively.

The five national finalists include Compotech, Inc., in Brewer, Maine; Winton Machine in Suwanee, Ga.; Plas-Tech Tooling in Garner, Iowa; Red River in Gillette, Wyo.; and VetPowered LLC in San Diego, Calif.

Fox News Digital earlier reported on the celebrity panelists.

The competition is reminiscent of Trump’s early-2000s hit reality show “The Apprentice,” in which aspiring business people competed against one another in a series of challenges to win a top job or a major investment in their company. The show ran for 14 years, and is widely credited with elevating Trump’s national profile before his stunning 2016 election victory.

Gebbia is currently a member of the Trump administration, while Minaj, Cardone and Cain have all publicly touted their support for the president.

In January, Minaj called herself Trump’s “number one fan” as she pledged hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund his new tax-advantaged investment accounts for kids.

At a White House Black History Month event in February, Trump returned the praise, saying, “She’s so beautiful. Her skin’s so beautiful … Her nails, her nails! They’re like that long!”

It won’t be the first unconventional event Trump has hosted at the White House since returning to office in January 2025.

In June, his administration hosted a UFC Freedom 250 event that saw professional mixed martial arts fighters compete on the South Lawn of the White house.
