The Giants hosted some familiar names for a tryout and signed two relative unknowns.
Undrafted rookie tight end Tyler Moore, who had 21 catches for 245 yards and two touchdowns over four seasons at Iowa State, and defensive tackle Marlon Davidson are expected to sign and join the Giants when they fly Tuesday from East Rutherford to White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. for the start of training camp.
Davidson, 28, has played in 25 career games since entering the NFL as a second-round pick in 2020. He played in one for the Texans last season. He effectively replaces defensive tackle C.J. Ravenell, who was waived last week with a non-football injury designation.
Eighteen players in all worked out, including former first-round pick Kenneth Murray, a former Chargers, Titans and Cowboys linebacker.
Other notables were quarterback Jake Haener and defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi.
Haener played in eight games, including one against the Giants, with one start for the Saints in 2024. He was a 2023 fourth-round pick.
Fatukasi, a Far Rockaway native, spent four seasons (2018-21) with the Jets before leaving for a three-year, $30 million free-agent contract with the Jaguars. He also played for the Texans.
