Rory Feek’s Daughters Slam ‘Ongoing Exploitation’ of Sister Indiana, 12, After She Underwent Surgery

News RoomBy News RoomJuly 13, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Country singer Rory Feek’s estranged daughters have spoken out against his social media posts about his youngest daughter, Indiana Feek, in which he has shared updates about her recent open-heart surgery and complications.

After Indiana, 12, underwent open-heart surgery in June, Rory, 61, took to Substack on Saturday, July 11, to share that she was admitted back to the hospital in July after initially being discharged.

“We thought we had lost her,” Rory wrote alongside photos of Indiana being airlifted to the hospital and sitting in her hospital bed.

Shortly after Rory shared the update, his estranged daughter Heidi Feek shared a video to her Instagram Stories in which she slammed her father for his “ongoing exploitation” of Indiana. Heidi, 39, added that her father’s treatment of Indiana “makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.”

“Yesterday my father posted a Substack post where he detailed how she essentially almost died, according to him. And while I’m glad that she’s doing better and that she’s okay, according to him in that Substack post, I am upset that I found out on Instagram,” she said in a video shared on Sunday, July 12. “I am still upset because of the ongoing exploitation of my little sister on his monetized Substack account.”

Heidi argued that Indiana’s surgeries and recovery are “vulnerable moments” and Rory should not be posting updates without her consent. Additionally, she criticized her father for promoting his song “Thank You Lord” at the end of his post.

“That’s not a moment to be taking photos, that’s not a moment to be blogging about, and it’s not a moment to be self-promoting or promoting your organization performing your song,” she said. “It all makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.”

Heidi and her sister Hopie Feek claimed they have not seen Indiana in more than two years amid an ongoing dispute with Rory over the minor’s care.

Hopie, 38, also reacted to her father’s post in an Instagram post of her own.

“My beautiful 12 year old sister was being life flighted to Austin due to complications after her heart surgery…which somehow was the pristine time to stop and take photos!” she wrote in the July 11 post. “I see Indy scared and hurt surrounded by strangers being photographed from afar by a parent. In moments like these I would never stop to think I need to take photos for my blog and for my fans!”

Hopie went on to open up about her estrangement from Rory in an additional post.

“People can’t fathom why we fight against the father who raised us… as hard as it is for me it’s necessary,” she wrote. “Y’all judge and ridicule us hatefully for sharing one man’s walk-through fatherhood from our point of view.”

Hopie said that she “love[s]” her father and “always will,” but she feels that “mistakes were made” during her childhood and she wants “it to be different for Indy.”

Heidi and Hopie made the statements about their father after they took legal action against him in the fall of 2024, claiming that he cut them off from contacting Indiana. Details of the filing have not been publicly shared because Indiana, who has down syndrome, is a minor. The legal proceedings regarding the filing remain ongoing.

A rep for Rory declined to give a comment about Heidi and Hopie’s statements when contacted by Us.
