Darrell Sheets’ girlfriend recalled him getting into an argument with his son, Brandon, before his death by suicide.
According to a police report obtained by Us Weekly on Wednesday, July 8, Sheets’ girlfriend, who was unnamed in the documents, had been dating the Storage Wars star since February 14, 2026. The girlfriend claimed Sheets “had been dealing with issues.”
Us previously learned that Sheets had been a victim of cyberbullying, a topic he personally wrote about in his apparent suicide note also revealed in the new police report. “I could not take anymore, the Facebook bullying,” he wrote in the note, adding, “F*** you, [redacted.]”
One month before his death, Sheets slammed alleged cyberbullies on his public social media profile.
“I have been hacked by a very evil person,” he wrote via Facebook in March. “The clown. [The posts] are not done by me, they are being done by … very evil people. I’m not gay, I have made no posts about any children’s arcade owner, etc. I’m extremely sorry and sick over this.”
The Lake Havasu City Police Department previously told Us that it was “aware of the cyberbullying accusations” in connection with Sheets’ death and that the “claims are a part of the active investigation.”
Despite Sheets’ experiencing hate online, his girlfriend claimed that he had been “good” overall. She told police Sheets “never mentioned self-harm to her.”
Before the reality star’s death, Sheets’ girlfriend claimed that Brandon “recently visited” his dad “for a couple days.” She alleged the father-son duo “verbally fought over family drama” and that Brandon “reamed” Sheets “a new ass” during the heated exchange.
The girlfriend also claimed Brandon and his wife do not like her and allegedly made those feelings known to Sheets. She accused Sheets’ daughter-in-law of sending him a text calling her “horrible” and how they found her “suspicious.”
At one point, the girlfriend left because Brandon was allegedly yelling at Sheets. The girlfriend claimed Sheets “didn’t want to be alone” with Brandon and his wife.
Brandon and his wife allegedly left on April 19, three days before Sheets’ death. Sheets was “devastated” and “sad as hell” after Brandon left, according to his girlfriend.
Us has reached out to Brandon for comment.
Sheets was best known for appearing on A&E’s Storage Wars from 2010 to 2023, on which he was known as “The Gambler.” A spokesperson for the Lake Havasu City Police Department confirmed to Us that Sheets died in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on April 22. He was 62.
“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets,” a spokesperson for A&E told Us at the time. “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Sheets’ death was later ruled a suicide, and his toxicology analysis came back negative for drugs, per an autopsy report.
According to police records, Sheets left an apparent suicide note stating that he could no longer take “the Facebook bullying.”
