Trader Joe’s mini totes drop for just $3 — selling out fast as customers battle long lines

News RoomBy News RoomJune 18, 20260 ViewsNo Comments

They’re going tote-ally nuts.

Trader Joe’s shoppers across New York and New Jersey are scrambling to snag their new $3 mini tote, which is already selling out at many outlets.

Released Wednesday across stores nationwide, the stylish reusable sack comes in four different striped pastel colors and measures 13 inches long, 11 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Total price: Just $2.99.

“Our Mini Pastel Canvas Tote Bags are ideal for smaller shopping trips—the kind where you’re just picking up something for lunch, or grabbing those items you forgot the first time around,” the retailer declares on its site.

However, the retailer’s reps advised shoppers to pick up this cult-favorite collectible while they can as “supplies are limited,” USA Today reported.

Shoppers were quick to heed the call across the nation, including the Tri-state area, with viral videos showing throngs of tote-hungry customers forming lines down the block to snap up as much of the haute merch as they can carry.

At the outlets in Paramus and Denville, New Jersey, the totes were sold out by 10am despite the fact that shoppers were limited to four each, NorthJersey.com reported.

The accessories also inspired lines that extended for several storefronts at the branch in Commack, Long Island, where shoppers notably exceeded the four-bag allotment, Newsday.com.

Mother and daughter Eunice Lee, 47, and Yeriel Lee, 15, reportedly purchased a whopping 24 totes to gift to family in South Korea.

“The price is so cheap,” Eunice Lee, who is from South Korea but resides in Melville, said while describing the appeal. “And they’re so cute, pretty.”

Coincidentally, Trader Joe’s totes, which encompass “Trick-or-Treat Mini Canvas Totes” to “Micro Totes to the recent insulated mini tote bags, among others, have become a sartorial status symbol of sorts.

They’re particularly sought after in Trader Joe’s-deprived nations, and cities like London, Melbourne and Tokyo for staggering prices, with some online listings approaching $50,000, the WSJ reported.

In fact, the retailer recently initiated legal action to protect its customers from counterfeit versions of its mini totes.

“We are aware that some knockoff totes are being sold online and have recently filed a lawsuit to protect our customers from being misled,” Trader Joe’s said in a statement to USA Today.
