The 2026 US Open golf tournament begins today, June 18.

The annual tournament is the third of four majors that are part of the PGA Tour season, behind the Masters and the PGA Championship.

For the sixth time in the tournament’s 126-year history, the US Open will be held at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on the far east end of Long Island.

Heading into this year’s US Open, Rory McIlroy is looking to win his second major of the year following his victory at the Masters in May. A US Open win has eluded World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler; it’s the only major victory he needs to complete a career grand slam.

  • Where: Shinnecock Hills Golf Club (Southampton, New York)
