It is OTA season across the NFL, which means breathless accounts of deep passes, diving receivers and 7-on-7 stats.
Look, I get it. You’re starved for news about your favorite football team and you’ll take routes against air over nothing at all.
But most of what we see in the spring proves to be meaningless come fall. Teams are working on things right now and they are far, far away from being a finished product. There are also rules about not wearing pads, not hitting and things that make this not real football.
It would be like keeping hitting stats in batting practice.
