‘Storage Wars’ Set to Honor Darrell Sheets With Special Tribute After His Death: Report

News RoomBy News RoomApril 23, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Storage Wars is planning to honor former cast member Darrell Sheets following his death by apparent suicide at the age of 67.

According to TMZ, A&E will pay tribute to Sheets during this weekend’s new episode. The network has plans to honor him with an in-memoriam card during the broadcast.

Leading up to a new episode on Saturday, April 25, A&E will also air a marathon of classic Storage Wars episodes featuring Sheets. (Us Weekly has reached out to the show for comment.)

“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets,” A&E previously shared in a statement to Us. “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Original Productions also released a statement to Us stating, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of longtime Storage Wars cast member Darrell Sheets. His bold instincts and willingness to take risks helped define the show and build its legacy. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.”

Sheets was found dead on Wednesday, April 22, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, a spokesperson for the Lake Havasu City Police Department confirmed to Us.

“Officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” police said in a statement. “The male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”

Police in Arizona later confirmed they are investigating claims that Sheets was bullied online before his death. In the weeks before his apparent suicide, Sheets had confronted alleged cyberbullies on social media.

Sheets, who fans often called “The Gambler,” appeared on more than 160 episodes of Storage Wars between 2010 and 2023. He was a storage auction veteran who became known for his catchphrase, “This is the WOW factor!”

After leaving the show, Sheets started his own business called Havasu Show Me Your Junk.

“Do you know this is a premier gift store for the person that has everything!!” Sheets wrote via Instagram in October 2024 when promoting his business. “We carry Hot rods, taxidermy, jet skis, pinball machines, slot machines, neon, man cave accessories, something for everyone. Start early and get your Christmas gifts. We also buy here.”

Just hours before his death, Sheets appeared to be in good spirits when he was spotted at his antique shop. Fans who met him described the encounter as warm and upbeat.

“I would like to say to everyone, if you are struggling, if you feel hopeless or like no one cares.  I assure you they do!!” Storage Wars costar Brandi Passante wrote via Instagram after learning of Sheets’ death. “You are not alone. Please reach out for help.”
