LeAnn Rimes has a message for haters claiming her viral deep jaw release video was fake.
“The people were commenting on [the post], being [like], ‘Of course the camera was on, she was gonna cry,’” Rimes, 43, said during a Saturday, April 18, livestream with Human Garage founder Garry Lineham via Entertainment Weekly, referring to her March video where Lineham used fascial maneuvers to relieve tension in her jaw.
The singer joked, “I’m like, ‘I can act, but I am not that good.’ I am not that good. I’m not Meryl Streep.”
Rimes explained that the tears and crying that fans witnessed in the March clip was “real” and raw after being in pain for some time.
“That’s just real, and I feel like the older I get, and it’s been probably the last decade of my life, I feel like the more honest I can be,” she shared on Saturday. “People finally get to see me, and there’s no pretense about that.”
Rimes shocked fans on March 29 when she was featured on Human Garage’s social media page as an example of how a “deep jaw release” could release one’s body of deep tension.
“Healing isn’t always quiet. Sometimes it’s a physical letting go of things we didn’t even know we were carrying. 🕊️,” the post read.
The video showed Lineham, the wellness platform’s cofounder, reach his fingers into Rimes’ mouth as she expressed pain at different pressure points. After about 60 seconds, she started to cry, signifying that her jaw was back in alignment.
“Say that part of my life is over,” Lineham told Rimes, to which she replied, “That part of my life better be over.”
Among Rimes’ critics was The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville.
Glanville — who was married to Eddie Cibrian before he had an affair with Rimes and later married the Grammy winner in 2011 — called the footage “weird.”
“I just don’t know why you share that,” Glanville, 53, confessed on an April episode of her “Unfiltered” podcast, noting that she had the same procedure done and “it’s very painful.”
Glanville added, “Well, I hope she feels better, and yeah, that was that on that.”
Rimes, for her part, has been vocal in recent months about her health journey. The 9-1-1: Nashville star previously shared that she underwent a $10,000 “plasma exchange” in January aimed to “help clear micro-toxins” while adding stem cells “to encourage overall repair.”
“I’ve always been passionate about health and open conversations around it, and I know when I share these experiences it often sparks a lot of curiosity and thoughtful questions. My hope is simply to inform and continue the dialogue around what healing can look like,” she shared in an Instagram video at the time. “I also want to say this with care [since] I’m very aware that access to treatments like this isn’t universal. I share with sensitivity and humility, not as a prescription, but as information about what’s been working for me.”
